Aaron Scott - Pastor
Aaron was born and raised in Texas.  He and Angie honeymooned in Whitefish almost 30 years ago. They arrived back in Whitefish with their 5 kids in 2014.  Church of the Cross grew from a Bible study that started in Aaron and Angie's living room in 2014. Aaron was called as the church planter and was the Lead pastor until the church particularized in 2021. Since then Aaron has served as the Worship Pastor and in the Fall of 2025 was voted as Lead Pastor.
Aaron and Angie have started and owned several businesses in Texas and Montana. He has an M.Div. from Westminster Theological Seminary. Angie is currently coaching the freshman volleyball team at Whitefish High School. They both enjoy outside activities such as golf, hiking, and skiing.

Keegan Christ - Shepherding Elder
Keegan is a native Montanan.  He grew up in Missoula and planned to never leave.  God had different plans.  He has now visited 47 different states, lived in 5 states, visited 20 countries and lived in 2 countries.  Keegan started his education at Montana State University; however, is quick to point out that he is first and foremost a Grizzly at heart.  He served as a volunteer on a traveling youth ministry for 2 years, where he met his, now wife, Rebecca.  They lived in Chicago while she finished a teaching degree and Keegan pursued a career as a high-end custom furniture builder. Keegan finished a teaching degree at Concordia University Wisconsin, near Milwaukee, while Becka taught at an inner-city school. They also led the youth group at their church and volunteered for Young Life.  Their passion for diverse cultures, outreach to youth and incarnational ministry called them to Young Life staff as missionaries in Sweden from 2007 to 2012.  Keegan continues to serve as a missionary on Young Life staff as the Area Director for Whitefish Young Life, since 2014. They have two children Sofia (16) and Kai (13).  Keegan has too many hobbies to list, but finds time to ski, flyfish, and fix whatever needs fixing!

Justin Gable - Shepherding Elder
Justin grew up in Arizona and first learned of God's grace through Jesus’ sacrifice when he was 8 years old. He was raised in a home with one Jewish-born church-going Christian parent and one non-believing parent. He received a BA from Texas Christian University, followed by a Master's in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary. During graduate school, while praying about a place to serve and learn, God introduced him to addiction recovery programs. This began his current 15-year journey, both professionally and personally. Currently, he leads a counseling center in Whitefish, where he enjoys walking with others on the path of freedom. After graduating in 2012, he moved to Montana where, through little of his own doing and much of God's love, he met his wife, Christine. They were married in 2015 and joyfully have two children: Hank (9) and Holland (5). Following a period back in Texas (2015-2018), they returned to Montana with long-term intentions. They are grateful for the people, connections, and community of COTC–specifically how this church community seeks to love our local community.

Ben Homan - Shepherding Elder
Ben came to faith nearing 8th grade, a shock to his non-Christian parents.  A God-led journey began (still on-going) in healing from his family-of-origin’s broken relationships, alcohol abuse, astrology and violence.  God graciously brought Annette into his life, a tender agent of God’s care (m.1988).  They have three adult children: Tess, Ethan and Carter.  Ben studied Organizational Communication, Mandarin and International Development at Biola University, University of Nebraska, Shanghai Normal University, Nankai University and Washington University.  Ben taught at UC Irvine and worked 13 years at Covenant Seminary, sharpening “non-profit turnaround” tools, also serving as an elder (Chesterfield Presbyterian Church).  In 2001, Ben became President/CEO of Food for the Hungry, often traveling to hard spots like Afghanistan, Iraq, Darfur and tsunami-ravaged Indonesia, seeking to apply Micah 6:8.  Ben’s learning from his global church sisters/brothers, whose voices have been formed in tough crucibles, eventually led to Ben’s call to serve 14+ years as President of Langham Partnership (founded by British theologian John Stott) where Ben’s focus was raising new generations of Bible teachers globally.  Ben retired in December 2024 and is Langham’s “President Emeritus.”  The Homans acquired their Whitefish home and began attending COTC in 2021, relocating in 2022.  His hobbies?  Cinema, cheering the Cornhuskers, writing and keynote speaking.
